The European educational programme XploreHealth brings science into the classroom and encourages student participation in research and innovation
We promote health and bring biomedical research closer to education.
Xplore Health is a European educational programme to promote health by facilitating decision-making based on scientific reasoning, promoted by IrsiCaixa and Obra Social "la Caixa", with the support of the Amgen Foundation.
The project has been developed online and through a network of pilot educational centres, research centres and science museums in Spain. It contains 8 thematic modules: HIV/AIDS, malaria, obesity, mental health, skin cancer, biotechnologies, genomics and drug development.
It offers multimedia resources for students and educators: videos, online games, virtual experiments, resources for reflection on ethical, legal and social aspects, protocols of experiments on current research, didactic guides, etc.; and also face-to-face activities (courses and seminars for teachers and experiment workshops for students).
Currently, most of the resources created in this educational programme can be found on the EduCaixa website.
