Sara Cabrero de las Heras
Sara Cabrero de las Heras graduated in biology at the University Complutense of Madrid in 2015. In 2016, she moved to Barcelona to study a masters in biomedical research at the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and, for her masters thesis, she joined the research group of Dr. Eva Martinez Balibrea, at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP). There, she got the opportunity to study her PhD in Biomedicine, from the University of Barcelona, which she obtained after defending her thesis “Study of a custom panel of CXC chemokines in the serum from metastatic colorectal cancer patients as predictive and/or prognostic biomarkers”. In 2023, she joined the 'Virus-Host Interaction' research group at IrsiCaixa as a postdoctoral researcher. She participates in a translational project in breast cancer, coordinated by Dr Ester Ballana and Dr Mireia Margelí. She works on the description and characterization of immune biomarkers of therapeutic response to CDK4/6 inhibitors in patients with advanced breast cancer.
