Rita Casas Costa

Rita Casas Costa is a biochemist specializing in scientific communication. She studied Biochemistry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and continued with a master’s degree in Translational Biomedical Research at the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR). Her research experience includes work at Hospital del Mar, the pharmaceutical company Sanofi, and the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO).

Driven by her interest in bringing science closer to society, she specialized in scientific communication through the master's program in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication at the Barcelona School of Management – Pompeu Fabra University (BSM-UPF). Since then, she has worked as a scientific communicator at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) and is currently part of the IrsiCaixa team, where she develops the institution’s external and internal communication. Her work focuses on making science accessible, promoting, and conveying the knowledge generated at IrsiCaixa to society.
