Mariona Parera Sallent
Mariona Parera took an Advanced Laboratory Technician course at the Bonanova Institute in Barcelona, undertaking practical sessions in clinical analysis laboratories at the Corachan Clinic and the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (Viral Hepatitis group).
After a period working at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital Blood Bank, she joined IrsiCaixa in 1999 to work on HIV and HCV projects in Dr. Miguel Angel Martínez’s group. At the end of 2013 she joined Dr. Roger Paredes’ group, where she uses massive sequencing and other molecular biology techniques to analyse the microbiome.
