HIVACAT’s Community Advisory Committee, created last July, recently celebrated its second annual meeting at the IrsiCaixa Institute for Aids Research.
Within the framework of this meeting, the members of the Committee visited the IrsiCaixa laboratories, guided by the head of scientific-technical services, Teresa Puig. They were also able to visit the facilities of the HIV Unit and the Lluita Contra la Sida (Fight Against Aids) Foundation, which are also located at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital.

One of the most important events during the meeting’s programme was the naming of the president and secretary of the Community Advisory Committee. Mercè Meroño, coordinator of the Woman Area of the Prevention Area non-profit organization (Àmbit Prevenció), was appointed new president. Anna Tor, of IrsiCaixa, was appointed secretary.
In this second meeting the rules and regulations that will guide the body were also approved, amongst other matters discussed over the course of the meeting’s programme. The Committee’s next meeting will take place on January 20.
