Amaya Blanco Perera

Amaya Blanco-Perera is a scientist with a background in the pharmaceutical industry and academia R&D. Graduated with a bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universidad de La Habana, and a Master Degree in Pharmacology. She is proficient in drug development processes with a focus on in vitro and in vivo experimental work. She completed her PhD at the Universitat de Lleida (2021), focusing her work on the evaluation of the antiviral activity of microbicides and monoclonal antibodies against HIV and SARS-CoV viruses. Currently, Dra. Blanco-Perera works for the Cell Virology and Immunology (VIC) group at IrsiCaixa, in the conceptualization and execution of biological activity assays, immunological evaluations, and drug development protocols.
