Àlex Pérez Hita

Àlex obtained his bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona (UB) in 2023. During his academic period, he did an internship in the Toxicology Research Group. After graduating, he worked as a pharmacist, but he had always been fascinated by research. This curiosity led him to pursue a Master’s in Biomedicine, developing his MSc thesis at IGTP. The project aimed to study the underlying mechanisms of drug resistance in thyroid cancer.

In February 2025, he joined the Retrovirology and Clinical Studies Group (GREC) as a pre-doctoral researcher, working on the generation of a new cell therapy against HIV-1.
