Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive young investigator interested in developing novel antiviral and immunomodulatory strategies against viral infections. A full-time Predoc position is open to join our group PISTA at IrsiCaixa. IrsiCaixa is located at the Biomedical Campus Can Ruti (Barcelona).
The thesis will focus on identifying novel host directed antiviral therapies to tackle different viruses (SARS-CoV-2, RSV and MPXV). Within this context, the PhD research position will be linked to the project entitled “Novel antiviral and immunomodulatory broad-spectrum therapies targeting cellular host factors (ViroSTOP)” (PID2023-147498OB-I00), granted as well by the Spanish Research Agency.
Candidate profile and qualifications

- Experience with the above-mentioned techniques.
- Excellent team working abilities.
- Candidate must be willing to continuously learn and grow.
- Priority will be given to highly motivated individuals that like setting up novel assays.
- Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Some occasional evening flexibility may be required.
- Candidate must be highly motivated and oriented to follow a scientific career.
- Candidate should be enrolled in a Doctoral Program before the official starting date of the contract.
