Summary
IrsiCaixa, located in Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, has an opening for a highly motivated senior postdoctoral fellow to study mechanisms of natural and therapy-induced immune response against cancer and (neo)antigen vaccine design.
Job duties
The candidate is expected to perform the analysis of the immune cell compartment in cancer patients. This will include, but not limited to, T cell-based functional assays, immune cell phenotyping by flow cytometry, and immunological analysis of NGS datasets (single cell and bulk RNAseq) from tumor tissue and PBMCs. The candidate will also collaborate in patient sample collection and update of patient databases.
Experience in general wet lab techniques, including cell culture and biochemistry/molecular biology is a must. Experience in immune cell-based assays, such as T cell cloning, transfection and expansion, ELISpot, flow cytometry, or immunopeptidomics is a plus.
Candidate profile and qualifications
- Senior postdoctoral candidate, preferably with a background in Immunology.
- Responsible for the design, execution, data analysis and interpretation of experiments.
- Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of experimental work.
- Maintaining close communication with PI regarding progress.
- Collaborating in the writing of scientific publications.
- Presenting data within and outside the laboratory groups at meetings and symposia.
- Good record of publications in peer-reviewed English journals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Candidate must be highly motivated and independent, with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to perform as a team member and have good interpersonal skills.
