Summary
The Neoantigen and Vaccines against Cancer (NEOVACAN) group at IrsiCaixa, located in the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, has an opening for a Senior Research Technician in the field of tumor immunology and neoantigen vaccines.
Job duties
The applicant will work independently in the lab under the principal investigator's direction. The candidate is expected to:
- manage wet lab work.
- handle and update patient databases.
- process tumor samples (human and mouse).
- culture cancer cells and patient-derived organoids.
- perform immune cell-based assays, such as ELISpot, flow cytometry, T cell-mediated cytotoxicity, etc.
Candidate profile and qualifications
- Experienced in general wet lab techniques, including cell culture and biochemistry/molecular biology is a must.
- Experienced in handling human samples and Next Generation Sequencing.
- Experienced in immune cell-based assays, such as T cell cloning, transfection and expansion, ELISpot, flow cytometry, and/or immunopeptidomics is a plus.
- Experienced in animal handling is a plus.
- Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Candidate must keep detailed records of experimental work.
- Candidate must maintain close communication with the PI regarding progress.
- Candidate must be highly motivated, with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to perform as a team member and have good interpersonal skills.
