Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive young investigator interested on vaccine development with a solid immunology background to join our group, IGG, at the Fundació Privada Institut de Recerca sobre Immunopatologies-Caixa IrsiCaixa. IrsiCaixa is located at the Biomedical Campus Can Ruti (Barcelona).

The work will be focused on West Nile Virus (WNV) and syphilis vaccine development and encompasses a broad range of technical expertise: from protein production and purification to in vivo studies. The research activity implies to work in a BSL-3 environment with infectious WNV and Treponema pallidum stocks.

Job duties
  • Activities related to the research project (e.g. protein production and purification, ELISA, Western Blot, Flow cytometry, neutralization assays, among others).
  • Immunogenicity and efficacy studies in animal models.
  • Writing of scientific publications, grants, and scientific reports.
  • Presenting data within and outside the laboratory groups at meetings and symposia.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of experimental work.
  • Maintaining close communication with PI regarding progress.
  • Supervising student at the laboratory.
  • Participating in IrsiCaixa´s formative activities.
  • To be updated in the bibliography and advances related to the research project.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Candidate must be highly motivated and oriented to perform a scientific career.
